Our fate lives within us. You only have to be b r a v e enough to see it.
Am I the only one who gets a little bit pissed when I hear about so called “witches” performing spells and practicing witchcraft in the name of Christ?
I mean besides the obvious fact that any type of spells is against the whole religion (as it is stated in the bible), wasn’t it enough that a few…
Please feel free to read my about me and don’t be so quick to judge your fellow witches. As for appropriation. As a Christian who’s “cunning folk ” have been practicing magic much longer than your wiccans. I would suggest you rethink that statement. Not all magic is prohibited by the Bible and most “witches” killed were often never witches to begin with.
Well I am glad you feel confortable with your choices. I wouldn’t never tell you to change if you’re happy with it and respect others as well. My discomfort from a Christian religion practising crafts that are from Pagan origin (and yes, obviously Christians may have been practising magick longer than Wiccans, since it’s a rather recent religion, but they haven’t longer than other Pagan religions) is that “pick and choose what and what not to follow” attitude. That’s the kind of attitude that makes my grandmother praise christian witches for their effective spells and calling me a spawn of satan when i present myself as a pagan witch. It is the ”they can because they do it in the name of God and those guys can’t do the exact same thing because pagan is satan” attitude.
And I can’t fathom how two religions with such mixed messages may find a compromise that doesn’t completely contradict the commandments of each one.
I am not overly familiar with the Bible ( I have only studied part of it for a History class on Ancient Civilizations), but what i did study only contradicts the mixing of these two practices even more
You seem to be assuming that witchcraft is a pagan religion. Its not. Its a practice that is used by many different religion or without a religion at all and technically witchcraft began not as a religion but as a practice and was adopted into religions such as the ones under paganism. No one really has a claim on witchcraft. and not all witchcraft is paganism.
and then you say you are not overly familiar with my religions Bible but from what you read these two can not blend and are contradictory.
Now who is picking a choosing so that it fits there incentive…..
Also Satanism and Luciferianism and Christopaganism are forms of paganism. Luciferianism and Christopaganism as well as some forms of Satanism are apart of the abrahamic pantheon but are not the norm in the religious sections and thus being outside of the normal abrahamic religions they are grouped in with paganism.
As for the picking and choosing.
Is that not what the branches of Paganism are. There was a general basis and then one day someone goes.. I like this part better and the wander off to be druids. Another branch goes An Ye Harm None telling others to harm none in their practice ( not all follow that) so they branched off and became Wiccan. We are only going to worship the greek deities..and thus Hellinic Polytheism is born.
So as you see..for a religion to even begin they had to pick and choose what fit them the best and thus created their religions. ( The same going with Christianity i.e. catholicism..the breaking off of protestants and then the denominations of protestantism.
No, no, I know witchcraft is not a religion. It is a practice that is usually associated with certain religions and practised by many more.
And I don’t think I understood very well why you say I chose something to fit my motivations, I was just saying that I try to know what I am talking about before I form an opinion. I didn’t read the whole Bible, but I spent some time studying about several religions, which may or may not have been enough.
I guess you have a point there with the picking and choosing bit, I feel like I understand the whole issue a little better. The only thing that doesn’t sit right with me is the fact that christian religions don’t approve of witchcraft, so how come this branch of christianity+paganism is so accepted when others weren’t? (from what I’ve seen)
Or maybe it isn’t in other countries/cultures?
"No. I will not die like this. Cowering, clawing for breath."
I think this bird got confused when someone told him he belonged in the sky.
He decided to be the sky instead.
Wow! I’ve never seen a parrotlet with such beautiful colours! There is sort of a pied blue-green one but this is absolutely stunning.
Wonderful beautiful sky colours!
